REHEARSAL PROCESS

1. CHAIR RELAXATION:

Everything starts and ends with the Chair Relaxation. The Chair Relaxation is the most important tool for the Actor to inhabit as an acting technique.

Through Chair Relaxation the Actor has to detect the tension in the body and mind. Tension is not expressed Emotion. Detecting the Tension means to move the specific body part to unlock and open up physically and set the emotional life free. The Actor has to let go and learn how to express emotionswith ease and lightness.

 

2.  SENSORIAL WORK:

Through the Sense Memory the Actor access the Instrument deeper and trains the sensitivity. The Actor learns how to use the five senses of the body: Smell, Taste, Sound, Touch and Sight. In order to focus and concentrate and let the sensorial sensation live freely through the body and let it express freely in the moment. The Sensorial Work is always executed through the

Chair Relaxation.

 

3. EMOTIONAL MEMORY:

Here the Actor learns how to open up his emotional life and use it freely in order to create the life of a Character and to live moment by moment in the given Circumstances by the Material.

Again The Emotional Memory is accessed through the Chair Relaxation and The Sensorial Work / Sense Memory. It is extremely important to express that Emotional Life with ease and

lightness. Also the Actor trains to sustain IN that emotional life of the Material/Character

and trains to let that Emotional Life express freely through the body as IT

wants to be expressed.

 

4. PRIMARY NEED OF THE ACTOR:

Here the Actor access to his/her own Primary Need when he/she was three years old. This is how the Actor Turns On the Motor. It is also called tuning into the Actor’s instrument. Again this is accessed through the Chair Relaxation, the Sensorial Work / Sense Memory and the Emotional Memory. Here the Actor learns to inhabit the second most important tool which is to let the Need drive him through the Monologue / Scenes / Plays / Films. When

the Actor inhabits this technique to work through this Powerful Need he / she

will create astonishing, unforgettable, sensational, heartbreaking, magic

Acting Work.

This is why it is important to open up the Instrument of the Actor.

HOW TO PULL OFF THE JOB? HOW TO INHABIT THE CHARACTER?

 

- the first step is not to rush into an idea of the Character

 

- the second step is to own the Material, to be Powerfully Connected to the

Material, to create the Circumstances given by the Material and to Live in

the Material. So all the choices for the Character stem out from the

Impulses given by the Material.

 

Then, when I live powerfully in the Material there the Character is born and

the Actor learns how to live in the Primary Need and the Primary Action of

Character.

And the Actor discovers the Intimacy of the Character and trains to live the

Character daily routine. So the Actor lives a complete life of the Character

even before the movie or the play starts.
